In December 2014, Africa Integrity examined Africa’s “Elections in 2015” on the company’s blog www.africaintegrityinsights.com. This was in conjunction with our yearly comprehensive report on the political outlook for Africa in the upcoming year which is distributed to clients in January. Elections in 2015 outlined all of the elections taking place in Africa in 2015 and examined in detail three of these: the Presidential election in Cote d’Ivoire in October 2015; the Presidential election in Zambia in January 2015; and the Legislative and Presidential elections in Burundi in May and June 2015. The three pieces focus on the political and societal risk associated with the elections and assess the probability of risk levels increasing as a result of the election.
