The April 2018 edition of Africa Integrity’s newsletter examines the growth of large scale infrastructure projects in Southern and Eastern Africa, which, alongside the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA), is providing a strong foundation for intra-African trade and will doubtless present a range of investment opportunities in the coming years.

We also address President Cyril Ramaphosa’s response to the Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) land expropriation motion in South Africa, in light of next year’s election, and the growing influence of President Tayyip Erdogan’s Turkey on the continent.

Additionally, we provide an extract of our second Foresight Paper – Democracy Dawning in the DRC? – and count down the final five African countries in which we have not conducted investigations.
